Heidsieck & Co Monopole Blue Top NV $35.00 ***

I am in London.  Tonight, before we go to dinner, we've opened a bottle of this classic Heidsieck Monopole Blue. It is a crisp, bright, with a slight yeastiness (brioche) Champagne. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Legend has it that Monopole Blue was the official Champagne of the Titanic.  All I can say to that is serve it well chilled : ).

24% Chardonnay, 48%, Pinot Noir, and 28% Pinot Meunier; 12% ETOH .

It was great with Maria's Spanikopita.

This may be a week of champagne reviews.

    Erm, Heidsieck Monopole is different from Piper-Heidsieck. Completely seperate companies.

    You're right. Originally I was going to name this blog "Drunken Wine Reviews" simply because well... it is obvious by my lack of research on this post. I've edited the review. THANK YOU for pointing out the error.
