Benvolio Merlot Toscana `04 (not TJ's) IGT $12.99***

A rainy day of candles and movies.

I bought the Bevolio at a tasting last year.  I'm not a huge Merlot fan, so it has been dwelling on my rack.  I like Tuscany though, and it was kind of an Italian afternoon.  In between watching The Way We Were and Notting Hill (you have to love Netflix on Tivo!).

This is a full, soft wine with a bite of acid and a subtle chocolate taste. It smells like dark cherry. You can still taste a touch of oak long after you have swallowed this wine.

After the vinturi, it seems lighter, not as full.It is easier to drink alone decanted but honestly, it works either way.

Today's Menu, a salad of leftovers:
Hangar Steak
Buffalo Mozzarella
Grape Tomatoes
Crispy fried onions
tossed with romaine lettuce and a balsamic/olive oil dressing
