It has been a while since I uncorked a bottle of wine. I wasn't even going to today, but I decided to cook, and I needed a red for my chili. I poured a glass as I sauteed the spices, onions peppers and ground turkey. Tastes good. It is a nice plummy wine. It is rich, but not overpowering, and there isn't much of a tannin aftertaste. I like it. Now I am inspired and am going to make pepperjack cornbread to go with the chili.
This is a rich, smooth Shiraz, a good stand alone wine, but it also goes really well with food.
